Chicago Horse and Carriage LTD is located on the corner of Michigan Avenue and Pearson Street (at the Water Tower) across the street from Borders Book Store and kitty-corner from Water Tower Place mall.  Horse-drawn carriage rides are so romantic.  (Why not pop the question on one?  They have an engagement package and will even provide the flowers, sign, disposable camera and more!)

They are out there no matter what the weather and it is equally romantic whether the temperatures are cold or warm.  Why not grab a hot chocolate from the Hersey’s Store or gourmet coffee first when it is cold!   (Lap blankets will be provided when appropriate.)  There are a variety of sight seeing options that couples may choose from in either open or closed carriages.  There is something about the clip-clopping of hooves and the horse taking you on your tour of Chicago that makes this adventure one you don’t want to miss!  Their tours include Buckingham, Lincoln Park, Gold Coast, State Street, Michigan Avenue, Astor Street, Navy Pier, Millennium Park, Christmas Tree and much more!  (A professional photographer may be arranged by appointment too- with advance notice.)

    Are reservations needed?

    • admin says:

You don’t have to make a reservation. The carriages are lined up on the street. If you want a specific package or to have them pick you up at your hotel, you do have to make a reservation for that.

I am interested in taking a carriage ride on Sweetest Day(October 17, 2015). I would like to know the cost per person, the routes, and times that are available on this day. I also would like to know if reservations will be required.

There are at least two different carriage ride companies that you will have to call: Chicago Horse and Carriage LTD, 806 N. Michigan Ave.
      Chicago, (312) 988-9090 and Antique Coach & Carriage Co., 1538 W. Homer, Chicago, (312) 787-1349. Good Luck!
