Welcome to this Romantic Getaways website and blog. The most rewarding and fun aspect of this venture has been getting to talk about something I love to do!  And I love to plan romantic getaways for me and my husband, even if it is only for one night or a weekend.  I derive enormous pleasure offering the help you may need to plan a romantic getaway for you and your special someone too.

Why do I think there is a need for this site?  As I have searched and planned my own getaways, I have found there is not enough info out there.  Sure there are plenty of hotel, restaurant, and airline websites, but they really don’t give you the nitty-gritty of planning an entire getaway, whether it is for one night, a weekend or a week or more. By that I mean, once you have booked your hotel, flight etc. what are you going to do, what to pack, gift ideas, what will make it extremely romantic from the onset of your trip to the bitter sweet end?  Does everyone know what to pack for a cruise? (Look under cruises, I’ll tell you what you need.)

And that is what I hope this website will help you do, plan an entire romantic getaway from start to finish with all the little perks and special things that go into making it very memorable for a long time to come.  I have started with Chicago and will expand to other great cities and locations and add them to this site.  Don’t miss my cruise reviews, tips and info under Romantic Cruises.
